Return everything

The rented clothing, all borrowed accessories, all rented equipment need to be returned. Timeliness is important as you don't want to lose your deposit.

Handle your mail

Put your mail on hold, or resume your mail service if you have already returned from your honeymoon. Australia Post provides services for redirecting and holding mail. Instructions and registration are available online.

Change of name

There is no requirement to legally change your name, but if you choose to, there are helpful hints below from each state.

Photography follow up

- Contact your photographer and compile your album
- Contact your videographer for a viewing
- Put any wedding photos taken personally on the internet for friends and family to see
- Send your picture to the newspaper

Marriage Certificate

A certified marriage certificate is available from each state. If you have chosen to change your name, do so before applying for the marriage certificate.

Change of name on all other documents

If you choose to change your name, lots of documents need to be changed as well. Here is a list to get started.
Your drivers licence, passport, car registration, electoral enrollment, Australian Taxation Office, Medicare, bank accounts, superannuation, insurance policies, doctors, dentists, memberships, subscriptions, wills, phone accounts, internet accounts, store cards, NRMA or RACQ breakdown cover, council rates, animal registration, utility bills, insurances - car/house/contents, private health cover, and the real estate agency if your renting.
